NEW JERSEY STATE
FEDERATION OF UMPIRES
ABOUT THE FEDERATION
The New Jersey State Federation of Umpires was founded in 1946, by Gilbert P. Augustine and Mickey Sedlak (pictured on the left).
The Founding Fathers of the Federation saw a need for umpiring in the local area and together, they formed the New Jersey State Federation of Umpires. In 2007, the organization voted to add "MICKEY SEDLAK CHAPTER" to its name.
Mickey Sedlak was an active member in the Federation until his passing, in 2011. Mickey exemplified the meaning of being an Ambassador of Umpiring in Central Jersey.
Under the tutilege of Mickey, the Federation has become geared towards the continuous training and education of umpires. The Federation provides top level officiating throughout New Jersey and for those organizations that align themselves with the officials of the Federation.
